Rescue story
WEACT received a report that dogs were being neglected in a shed in Mungyeong. The previous owner was ignorant of the importance of sterilization and failed to provide proper care. Due to uncontrolled breeding, there was overpopulation. The dogs were standing in their own feces, barely surviving on contaminated water and food. It took three separate trips to rescue a total of 48 dogs, and #weact_nunu was one of the survivors to finally take a step outside the dreadful shed.

Personality
Strong on the inside and soft on the outside!

Nunu proudly displays a fur coat reminiscent of coffee with cream and legs of just the right length. With deep-set eyes and a resilient spirit, he has persevered through a life lacking clean water and fresh food. He cherishes the memories of living alongside other dogs in that place and gets along well with both new friends and the resident dog in his foster home. However, Nunu finds people intimidating and scary. If someone rises from the couch or moves swiftly around the house, he will bark or nip out of fear and retreat to his crate. He also hides when it is time to put on a leash for walks. During such moments, it would be beneficial to offer gentle petting to help him feel more at ease. He is currently learning to trust humans through interactions with his foster family. Although he is still adjusting to having his paws touched or being picked up, his love for food is undeniable. The sight of food fills him with such joy that he spins in circles, bringing laughter to those around him.

With humans
Nunu still holds fear towards people. Instead of intruding into his personal space, it¡¯s best to remain by his side in one place and wait patiently. With time, he will gradually approach and sniff around. Nunu doesn¡¯t differentiate based on gender or age, but he is highly sensitive to touch. Once a close bond is formed, he welcomes gentle touches, particularly behind his neck, and may even encourage you to continue.

With dogs
Nunu is a shy dog who requires time to warm up, but he¡¯s generally friendly. He greatly relies on the presence of the resident dog in his foster home, to the extent that he used to cry whenever the dog went outside. This demonstrates Nun¡¯s attentiveness to observe and learn from the dogs around him. If the resident dog seems uncomfortable, he acts as a protective bodyguard.

With cats
Nunu has never met a cat.

Energy level
Nunu is an early-bird full of energy in the morning. As the day progresses, he gradually becomes calmer, but his energy spikes when it comes to food and treats. He has recently started going on walks and may feel a bit nervous. While he can handle wearing a leash, he is still adapting to it and should be closely monitored during daily walks.

Shedding/Barking
Nunu sheds a lot, so brushing him twice a day would help keep his charming coat well-maintained. He may bark in response to hearing or seeing a dog barking on TV.

Needs help with
Nunu has a 100% success rate using the pee pad indoors. However, when strangers visit, he may have accidents here and there. He responds well to recall commands inside the house, but we have yet to test it outdoors. While he hasn¡¯t learned the command to enter the crate, he instinctively goes inside when he feels uncomfortable or anxious. Nunu is currently undergoing training to familiarize himself with human behavior and touch. If startled by sudden actions or touches, he may try to defend himself by nipping. He has recently started going on walks, and he needs more practice wearing a leash and feeling at ease outside.

Health specifics
Nunu doesn¡¯t have any dietary allergies, but he produces a lot of tears and requires regular cleaning of his tear stains.

Ideal family
Nunu¡¯s heart is like a long-unused automatic door, gradually opening up to even the smallest displays of affection and undergoing transformation. We envision a family for him who can patiently wait for the day when his heart swings wide open like a welcoming door. Due to his tendency to startle easily at minor sounds or movements, it might be slightly challenging for him to develop a bond with a family that includes young children. Nunu eagerly anticipates forging a unique and affectionate connection with his forever family.
