Rescue story
After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, WEACT went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. It had been two years since our last visit, but the place appeared frozen in time, hardly different from before. The dogs' lives hadn't improved at all, suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of our rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, we also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, we finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With the assistance of the KK9 organization, we successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder’s possession. Among them was #weact_marron, who was finally able to escape the dark, stuffy breeding facility and embrace a new life.


Personality
Marron is now stepping on soft ground, basking in the sun, and eagerly embracing new adventures! Even after being rescued from a harrowing situation, she radiates positive energy with her bright smile. Even when other dog friends may occasionally throw tantrums, Marron listens and willingly accommodates them. While she acts mature among dog friends, she transforms into an adorable puppy when interacting with people. When meeting strangers for the first time, she may initially keep her distance due to shyness, but could you please be patient with her? Marron is gradually opening her heart! If you wait patiently, she will express her love in her own charming ways. Would you like to cultivate moments of happiness with the cheerful and pure-hearted Marron?


With humans
Marron may initially be reserved with new people but quickly becomes affectionate. She loves people but can be startled by sudden sounds or actions, so please handle her with care and stroke her gently with love.


With dogs
Marron is a kind-hearted dog who is accommodating even to friends who may express their anger. With her bubbly personality, she gets along well with other dogs.


With cats
Marron has never met or lived with cats.


Energy level
Given Marron’s energetic nature, it would be beneficial to engage her in diverse experiences. She requires at least two daily walks and will particularly enjoy refreshing water play in the summer and winter camping adventures.


Shedding/Barking
Marron sheds moderately and may exhibit demand barking.


Needs help with
Marron needs various experiences with her family to help overcome her initial fear of new situations and actions. She is comfortable going potty both indoors and outdoors, but her success rate with potty pads remains uncertain. It would be beneficial to provide her with outdoor potty breaks during walks while maintaining consistent potty training indoors at home.


Health specifics
Marron is healthy, but extra care is needed for her patella due to her confinement in a narrow kennel previously.


Ideal family
Marron is incredibly popular among people and other dogs. Her accommodating nature may make her appear calm and gentle even in unfamiliar or challenging situations, but in reality, she's simply very fearful and may freeze up. She's also sensitive to loud sounds, sudden touch, and large movements, so a family with young children may not be ideal for her. We hope to find a family that can understand and appreciate these nuances, allowing her the time she needs to adapt naturally, rather than rushing or pressuring her. Marron enjoys playing with other dogs, so a home with resident dogs would be suitable. A family with an active lifestyle, capable of engaging in lively outdoor activities, would be perfect for her. We are searching for a lifelong family that can nurture Marron's youthful spirit and help her overcome her fears of new environments and experiences with love.
