Rescue story
After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, WEACT went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. It had been two years since our last visit, but the place appeared frozen in time, hardly different from before. The dogs' lives hadn't improved at all, suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of our rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, we also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, we finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With the assistance of the KK9 organization, we successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder’s possession. Among them was #weact_camila, who was finally able to escape the dark, stuffy breeding facility and embrace a new life.


Personality
Camila is an incredible dog who can brighten up the world with her sunny disposition! She adores people above all, although she also enjoys the company of her canine pals. When she accompanies you to dog-friendly cafes, she'll eagerly greet every table! If you ever lose sight of her, be sure to look around, for you might spot her engrossed in conversation at another table. Camila showers her family with a unique love. She's particularly fond of snuggling up to her cherished foster mom, her eyes revealing her delight in the delicious treats and the fragrance of freshly picked flowers. Here's a little secret: she loves to lie down by her mom's legs, a special bond that only Camila's family shares. We're searching for someone who can be her ray of sunshine and paint the skies blue with her.


With humans
Camila is incredibly sweet with people. She doesn't hesitate to greet new people with a wagging tail, and when she recognizes someone she's met before, her happiness shines even brighter. During a recent walk, she encountered a young child and had no issues, demonstrating her love for people of all ages.


With dogs
When Camila meets other dogs, she warmly greets them, regardless of their gender or size. However, she tends to show more interest in their guardians than in the other dogs.


With cats
Camila hasn't had any experience with cats, but during a walk, she got excited and attempted to chase a cat. Living in a household with cats might pose challenges.


Energy level
Camila requires at least two walks a day. While at home, she prefers resting over playing with toys, but when outdoors, she relishes leisurely walks with her foster family. Since she can easily walk for over an hour, we recommend either taking her to an off-leash parks where she can freely expend her abundant energy or walking with her several times a day.


Shedding/Barking
Camila has short hair and tends to shed. Her barking is infrequent, but it may increase in response to unfamiliar people or perceived threats in her environment.


Needs help with
Camila tends to gather her foster family's clothes and belongings inside her kennel when they're not at home. It's her way of coping with their absence. Please make sure there are no hazardous items within her reach. Occasionally, her curiosity leads her to investigate trash bags, so consistent training is necessary to discourage this behavior.


Health specifics
Camila has a tic disorder that causes her to move her jaw and hit her teeth. This behavior can become more frequent at night and may affect her dental and gum health, so she requires careful attention and care.


Ideal family
Camila adores people so much that she would thrive in a home where family members can spend ample time with her. After experiencing loneliness, Camila would be incredibly happy to share her life with a loving family. She doesn't show much interest in other dogs, so it may be more ideal for her to be the sole recipient of love rather than sharing it with resident dogs. Due to her high energy level, living in a pet-friendly city or suburban area where she can enjoy outdoor activities would be great. Although she doesn't particularly enjoy baths or grooming, her willingness to accept them shows her sensitivity to her family's feelings. Camila is a beautiful, intelligent, and affectionate dog. We are seeking a responsible lifelong family who can cuddle up with her and bask in the warmth of her overflowing love.
