Rescue story
After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, WEACT went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. It had been two years since our last visit, but the place appeared frozen in time, hardly different from before. The dogs' lives hadn't improved at all, suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of our rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, we also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, we finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With the assistance of the KK9 organization, we successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder¡¯s possession. Among them was #weact_das, who was finally able to escape the harrowing world of a breeding operation driven by human green and embrace a new life.

Personality
Das's everyday is filled with lively activity and bustling energy. If she were a YouTuber, everyone would surely rush to hit the like, subscribe, and notification bell buttons. She embodies positivity and knows how to savor and make the most of even the simplest things in life, consistently bringing smiles to our faces. Das's hobby is simply having fun, and her specialty is relishing delicious meals. When playing with other dogs, she gleefully darts around, carefree and unreserved in her playfulness, seamlessly transitioning from one group to another without a hint of hesitation. Amidst all this excitement, in order to capture the attention and affection of those around her, Das approaches with locked eyes, barking joyfully, making it impossible for us to resist showering her with affection. She always finishes her meals so neatly that there's no need to clean up afterward. Having spent so much time in a squalid cage, she occasionally steps in her own waste and then uses the same foot to scratch her head. Yet, when you encounter Das, perpetually cheerful without any awareness of what's amiss, you can't help but burst into laughter.

With humans
Within The Home, Das appears unconcerned about the gender or age of those around her. Her inherent friendliness implies that she would get along well not only with adults but also with children. Sharing her time with people might make her day even better. Yet, there are instances when her exuberant actions pause abruptly—particularly when a hand is extended toward her. Even if Das was barking loudly in her kennel to be let out, the moment a hand comes close, she freezes, flips over, and gives you a submissive look, as if asking you to stop. Nonetheless, due to her affection for people, if we consistently show consideration for her, she will quickly pick up on the genuine warmth in our gestures.

With dogs
Das likes other dogs and easily befriends them. She¡¯s not timid at all, but she also doesn¡¯t assert her dominance over them. Her friendly nature makes her ready to be every dog's best friend.

With cats
Das hasn¡¯t had experience living with cats.

Energy level
Das is an inquisitive troublemaker, constantly exploring and seeking to understand the world around her. Bursting with abundant energy, she would truly thrive with at least two walks a day, if not more.

Shedding/Barking
Das sheds fur and tends to bark for attention and affection.

Needs help with
Das is in the process of learning to walk on a leash. Since she hasn't been out of the confined cage for too long, outdoor excursions might seem a bit awkward to her initially. Instead of attempting long walks, consider taking her on short and gentle outings, allowing her to explore without feeling overwhelmed. As she occasionally barks to gauge our affection, it's important to kindly reassure her that she's cherished, even without the need for barking.

Health specifics
Das is healthy.

Ideal family
Despite emerging from the shadows of breeding facilities, Das exudes strength and positivity. Her affection knows no bounds – she lavishes love on both fellow dogs and people. We believe she would thrive in a lively and energetic family environment that matches her spirit. Keeping Das engaged in physical activities would undoubtedly contribute to her happiness. If her family includes resident dogs, with the right guidance, they could learn to appreciate each other's temperaments. Das would also be a great fit for a multi-generational family setup. Please help Das accumulate a wealth of joyful memories and diverse experiences, extending beyond the confines of her previous environment, thus shaping her into the happiest dog in the world.
