Rescue story
WEACT received a report regarding two dogs found roaming dangerously near Seoul Station without a leash. It was believed that they had been living on the streets for a significant period of time. With the help of multiple reports and eyewitness accounts, we successfully located the man suspected to be their owner. Recognizing his efforts to care for the dogs, WEACT initially explored ways to improve their living conditions. However, upon reviewing the results of their health examination, WEACT persuaded the owner to admit the dogs for immediate treatment and obtained his consent to continue caring for them thereafter. As a result, #weact_sarah, finally received the necessary medical attention and successfully regained her health.


Personality
Sarah is a brave girl who never gives up, just like Anne of Green Gables, even in the face of challenging situations. When she encounters unfamiliar people or other dogs, she may growl or hide, but it’s also her unique way of taking the time to get to know them. After thoughtful consideration and reaching a conclusion, Sarah acts without hesitation! You’ll see her approach with a wagging tail and expressing overflowing affection. While she enjoys playing with other dogs, her family always takes priority. She never wants to miss out on spending quality time with them.


With humans
Sarah has a tendency to hide from strangers and remain cautious. However, if you give her enough time to feel comfortable, she will approach with a wagging tail and show affection by rubbing against you. She's open to touch and embraces! It may be challenging initially, but with patience, you’ll witness her open up!


With dogs
Sometimes, Sarah may growl and attempt to intimidate new dog friends. However, if you promptly tell her to stop, she will listen and make an effort to get to know them and get along with them as if nothing happened.


With cats
Ribbon has never met a cat.


Energy level
Sarah needs to be walked at least once a day. She enjoys leisurely exploring parks, playgrounds, and strolling alongside her family.


Shedding/Barking
She tends to shed and may bark when other dogs pass by her crate as well as to loud noises such as thunder.


Needs help with
Sarah is in the process of learning how to use potty pads effectively, so consistent potty training is essential. When she encounters unfamiliar environments or meets new people, she becomes tense and seeks refuge in a corner, sometimes even refusing to eat. To help Sarah relax and reduce her fear of new experiences, she needs exposure to different situations and ongoing training. She is still getting used to the leash and may resist by sitting in place when she doesn't want to go to unfamiliar places. Taking her on regular short walks would be beneficial in helping her become more comfortable with the leash and develop proper walking manners.

Ideal family
We hope Sarah finds a loving family who can provide continuous support and help her to gather the courage she needs. When faced with unfamiliar environments, she often refuses to eat due to fear. It would be helpful to recommend delicious canned food or treats to entice her to eat. Additionally, Sarah startles easily from loud noises or sudden movements, so it’s important to approach her slowly and use a soft voice. Baths are another challenge for Sarah, but by wetting her legs first, she’ll become more accustomed to it and may even lean on you. As Sarah is currently undergoing vaccinations, it would be ideal to have family members who can closely watch over her. While she would thrive as the only pet in the family, she also gets along well with other dogs who share a similar temperament. Sarah is eagerly waiting for her forever family who is patient and can provide unwavering love.
