Rescue story
WEACT received a report that dogs were being neglected in a shed in Mungyeong. The previous owner was ignorant of the importance of sterilization and failed to provide proper care. Due to uncontrolled breeding, there was overpopulation. The dogs were standing in their own feces, barely surviving on contaminated water and food. It took three separate trips to rescue a total of 48 dogs, and #weact_bori was one of the survivors to finally take a step outside the dreadful shed.

Personality
Tough on the outside, but soft on the inside.

Bori is a cautious friend who has endured difficult times in the shed. Nonetheless, he¡¯s not a scaredy-cat who is unable to do anything. He may try to hide and resist putting on his leash for walks, but with gentle encouragement, he¡¯ll be quite happy once outside. Despite Bori¡¯s need to stop every three steps to take in all the scents, he¡¯s well-behaved and follows his foster mom along with ease. He¡¯s not used to loud noises outdoors, so it¡¯s better to take him to quieter places like parks rather than busy streets. Bori is a foodie who can¡¯t resist treats; he loves human food too so keep an eye on him when you eat! Bori really values building trust, and this was evident from his initial behavior at the foster home where he growled and refused physical contact. With time, he grew more comfortable with being touched. Bori now considers his foster mom as family and has become a devoted dog who also protects his home. Despite his gentle nature and desire for affection, his past experiences of having to protect himself have made him defensive at times. Is there anyone who can empathize with Bori and give him all the love he deserves?

With humans
Although Bori isn¡¯t the first to approach people, he eagerly greets his foster mom when she arrives home by wagging his tail and asking for pets. He¡¯ll also playfully nudge her with his nose and tap her with his paw.

With dogs
Bori¡¯s usually fine with saying hello to new dog friends, but if they get too close, he may growl and become upset. However, he¡¯s much more playful around the resident dog in his foster home and will follow him around at parks.

With cats
Bori has never met a cat.

Energy level
As Bori¡¯s still young and full of energy, it would be great if he could be walked one to two times a day. He easily recovers after a walk with a short nap.

Shedding/Barking
Bori sheds quite a bit. While he doesn¡¯t bark much, he may once in a if he hears a sound at night.

Needs help with
It appears that Bori has a fear of water. He¡¯s afraid of taking baths and crossing small bridges over creeks during walks. Please wait patiently until he becomes more comfortable with water. Given Bori¡¯s fear of strangers and unfamiliar dogs, it would be best to avoid such situations. He cries out in fear whenever his paws are touched, so it is necessary to assure him that such touch is safe. Oddly enough, Bori takes pleasure in being touched by one¡¯s feet, but if you want to touch him with your hands, please place them low and approach gradually to help him accept it.

Health specifics
Bori has no particular health issues.

Ideal family
Upon arriving at his foster mom¡¯s home, Bori demonstrated his intelligence by targeting the pee pads with precision. Although he still needs to adjust to human touch, this timid little guy finds comfort inside his kennel and shows affection by gently nudging his foster mom with his nose. Bori¡¯s looking for a family who can respect his need for personal space while also showing him love. He¡¯ll also get along with resident dogs if they are not too sensitive and treat him with consideration. In order to teach Bori the boundaries and prevent any accidents, please ensure that fragile items, dog treats, and kibble are stored in a location that is not within his reach. Bori¡¯s still timid around strangers and new dogs, but if you¡¯re willing to put in the effort to make him feel safe and secure, he¡¯ll soon become your beloved little pup.
