Rescue story
WEACT headed to a rural village in Mungyeong after receiving a report about dogs being neglected in a shed. Their former owner had been ignorant of the importance of spay/neuter and of how dogs should be cared for in general, leading to the dogs suffering neglect that bordered on abuse. It took three separate trips to rescue the 48 dogs, who had been living in a filthy environment for a long time. #weact_roy was one of the precious souls who managed to survive in this harsh environment, and he has finally started to get to know the big, beautiful world outside the shed.

Personality
"I'm Roy, and I am the king of the shed!"
Roy, a charismatic leader among his canine friends, was at the top of the hierarchy while living in the shed. He may be small, but he¡¯s very bold and quickly adapts to new environments. For example, after eating his meals in the kennel for a few times at The Home, Roy quickly recognized it as a place for dining and relaxation. He¡¯s calm, quiet, and observant. He actively sniffs strangers and will accept them if approached slowly. Roy opens up to those he perceives as his caretaker and may even become jealous if they give attention to other dogs. He loves all kinds of food, so it would be good to use them for training.

With humans
Roy needs a bit of time to warm up to people he meets for the first time. He allows those he feels comfortable with to put a collar on him, leash him, and touch him. When shown the leash, Roy knows it¡¯s time to go for a walk and calmly waits. Over time, you¡¯ll see how well he walks, eats, and even playfully asks for attention.

With dogs
Roy was unsure of how to make new friends, but he¡¯s learning how to get along with them! While he used to charge other dogs, he now has a girlfriend, #weact_milla, and loves spending time with her. Perhaps Roy was just waiting for a dog friend who was similar in temperament to him. Please help him get to know his dog friends slowly

With cats
Roy has never met a cat. Based on observations of his personality so far, it¡¯s probably not ideal for him to live with cats.

Energy level
Roy isn¡¯t high energy, but he loves going on walks and will even allow strangers to take him out. Because he prefers to go potty outside, he needs at least two walks a day. If he only goes out once per day, it¡¯ll need to be a long walk.

Shedding/Barking
Roy sheds a bit and doesn¡¯t bark much.

Needs help with
Roy needs help adapting to life among humans through socialization. Please encourage him to interact with people in various settings and give him ample time to build relationships. Roy is especially afraid of getting injections. It would be helpful to keep this in mind, as we hope to avoid any vet-related trauma.

Health specifics
After being rescued, Roy experienced hair loss due to nutritional imbalance, but his coat has grown back beautifully! He also received dental scaling and had three teeth extracted. He¡¯ll need regular brushing to maintain his oral health.

Ideal family
Once Roy trusts you as his caretaker, he¡¯ll become more open and affectionate! It takes time for Roy to carefully assess those around him, so we hope his family patiently waits and cares for him. And since he doesn¡¯t feel too comfortable around other dogs and gets jealous easily, it would be better for him to be the only dog in the household. But Roy also does well with those that are similar in temperament to him. If there is a resident dog already, it would be helpful to evaluate their compatibility and carefully monitor their interactions. Roy is looking for a forever family who¡¯ll walk with him and watch the changing seasons together!
