Rescue story
In the summer of 2023, WEACT headed to a breeding facility in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do upon receiving a report. Despite having official government approval, the scene was more distressing than anything we had witnessed before. It was filled with severe abuse, illicit euthanizations, unauthorized c-section procedures, and other unlawful practices. Dogs with ruptured eyes, injured limbs, and such severe emaciation that they were in a state of shock were discovered. These unfortunate dogs had endured continuous breeding within cramped cages, with their lives disregarded, devoid of any compassion. Drawing from the evidence gathered at the scene and the tips we had received, WEACT confirmed the harrowing act of using a box cutter to open a mother dog's belly to extract the puppies. We also uncovered a freezer containing over 100 dog carcasses wrapped in newspaper. When the freezer became too crowded, the dogs were illegally buried in the nearby mountains. Initially estimating around 800 dogs at the site, we were ultimately astounded to discover a staggering total of 1,426 dogs. Fortunately, the dedicated efforts of approximately 20 fellow organizations who swiftly offered their assistance, volunteers from across the country, various government agencies, and the cooperation of Gyeonggi-do provided invaluable support for the rescue mission. Together, we achieved an unprecedented miracle by saving all the abused dogs. WEACT brought home 32 dogs, including #weact_bolt.

Personality
Boss Baby Bolt is unstoppable! He always takes the lead and impresses with fantastic performances. Bolt loves to run around at lightning speed and has a friendly, spy-like charm when fearlessly approaching friends. If your family is ready to guide and support him, Bolt could become an even more remarkable secret agent. So, are you ready to be that family, joining him on special missions and becoming a part of his life?

With humans
Bolt adores people regardless of gender! He tends to playfully escape when someone tries to catch or hold him. However, be cautious, as Bolt's sudden actions, especially in unexpected emergencies, can be risky.

With dogs
Bolt likes to approach other dogs, regardless of their size, but sometimes he can be a bit too enthusiastic. Even if a friend seems uncomfortable, Bolt might not notice and continue approaching. With a bit of training, he can learn to befriend others and enjoy each other's company.

With cats
Bolt hasn't met or lived with cats before.

Energy level
Bolt is highly energetic. If he doesn't burn off his energy, he might start chewing on things around him. It's good to walk him at least three times a day and play with toys indoors to keep him engaged. Making sure Bolt plays enough will help him sleep comfortably.

Shedding/Barking
While Bolt doesn't shed much now, this might change as he grows. He tends to bark frequently and may react to external sounds, such as the wind, not just when he wants something.

Needs help with
At six months old, Bolt is ready for training! Assist him in becoming house-trained for comfortable indoor resting, and emphasize active recall to enhance his responsiveness to commands. Introduce leash training during walks to broaden his exposure to the world, and kennel training will provide a cozy resting spot. Manners training is crucial for Bolt to enjoy time with friends. Since he loves treats and can be picky with his food, consider using kibble as training rewards. In situations where he shows stubbornness, a bit of ignoring can be part of the training process.

Health specifics
Bolt has excessive tear production and needs eye drops for conjunctivitis. Occasionally, you may notice blood vessel bursts on the whites of his eyes, possibly due to genetic factors. Bolt may also experience episodes of reverse sneezing. When this happens, gently blow air on his face or massage around his neck. To ensure Bolt grows up healthy, attentive care is necessary.

*Reverse sneezing is characterized by an intense inhalation of air through the nose with a wheezing sound, sometimes accompanied by bursts of blood vessel in the eye.

Ideal family
Bolt, our Boss Baby, deserves plenty of love, but also needs a family that can establish clear boundaries. Ideally, he would thrive in a one to two-person household without young children, where spending ample time together is crucial for his well-being. While showering him with love is essential, introducing appropriate training as he adapts to living with people is equally important. Bolt is generally open to touch, eye drops, bathing, and grooming, but strongly dislikes being forced to take medication. He's uncomfortable with any forced interaction with his body, so please keep this in mind. Until Bolt learns to manage his energy, a home without other dogs is preferable. Due to his small size and potential for slipping through fences, vigilance is necessary. Bolt is searching for a lifelong family that can love him wholeheartedly and provide meticulous care for his health.
