Rescue story
In December 2019, the #SiheungDogFarm entered the spotlight as the story of Yumi emerged—a dog that miraculously escaped with extensive burns covering its entire body. Another animal welfare organization initially launched a rescue operation, but on Christmas Day, the owner transferred all the animals to a different dog farm. Although their whereabouts remained elusive, persistent efforts eventually convinced the farm owner to surrender them. However, the time spent in slaughterhouses had inflicted profound trauma on these dogs. Taking charge of the situation, WEACT and volunteers provided ceaseless day and night care, leading to the successful rescue of 65 animals from the #SiheungDogFarm. Due to their profound trauma and injuries inflicted by humans, it necessitated an extended period of time and heightened effort to rehabilitate them. Even four years down the line, WEACT remains steadfast in its mission to facilitate the adoption of dogs from #SiheungDogFarm. #weact_wolfie was one of the rescues from this very location.

Personality
The protagonist of this world is none other than me, Wolfie!
Wolfie takes on the role of a leader among the dogs and serves as a reliable bodyguard in the relationship with his owner. He doesn't shy away from the surrounding environment and actively secures his territory, diligently protecting his personal space, bed, food bowl, toys, and blanket at The Home. If any disputes arise among his friends, he takes on the role of a mediator and isn't hesitant to correct any friend who begs with bad manners. Because Wolfie enjoys taking the lead in various activities, he dislikes being forced to do anything by his owner. He loves going on walks, but if the leash is suddenly clipped on, he may feel uncomfortable, so it's better to take your time and do it gradually. Once the walk begins, he kindly adjusts his pace to match the owner's and might eagerly pull ahead when excited for a run.

With humans
Wolfie isn't a fan of things done in a quick and forceful manner. If you try to push him, he might react by attempting to bite. Please allow him time. He's also uncomfortable with prolonged direct eye contact and may respond by barking. It's best to avoid staring at him for too long. Wolfie has grown to appreciate human touch and now allows people to stroke his paws with their hands. If another dog at the park tries to nip at his guardian¡¯s heels, he growls as a sign of warning and displays his protective nature. Whenever his guardian approaches his kennel, Wolfie recognizes that it's time for a walk and eagerly waits at the door with a bright smile. If you extend your hand and say "paw," he will place his paw on top of yours. Similarly, when you ask him to "sit," he will happily comply and enjoy your praise. Offering treats and slowly brushing Wolfie allows him to tolerate grooming, and when you praise him for it, he responds by sticking out his tongue and smiling. He is trainable through treats and possesses a high level of intelligence, making it easy to communicate with his owner.

With dogs
Wolfie naturally assumes a leadership role and maintains good relationships with smaller dogs. However, his interactions take on a sharper and more sensitive tone when he's around the rescues he was saved with from Siheung Dogmeat Farm, as well as other Jindo-mix friends. Despite this, he expresses affection towards his Jindo-mix friend, #weact_glory, and even shares treats with her. Wolfie's interactions vary depending on the individual dog.

With cats
Wolfie has never met a cat.

Energy level
Energetic Wolfie requires walks at least twice a day. He greatly enjoys spending time with his guardian in the field and playroom at The Home. When his guardian runs, he excitedly follows, matching their steps and staying by their side. Instead of running around the field with other dogs, he prefers to explore different scents and wander around. Wolfie reserves his energetic bursts for moments of excitement.

Shedding/Barking
When Wolfie becomes excited due to external stimuli from behind the fence, or if someone is staring at him or has something to eat but doesn't share, he expresses his discomfort by barking. He is sensitive to loud sounds, like thunder, and responds with loud barks. Additionally, he sheds a lot, so regular brushing is necessary.

Needs help with
Because Wolfie tends to guard his belongings and exhibit dominant behavior towards other dogs, close monitoring is essential. He also relieves himself both indoors and outdoors and has a habit of marking, so consistent training is necessary. During walks, the guardian should make an effort to communicate with Wolfie through the leash. By effectively leading him, Wolfie will come to recognize the guardian as his own.

Health specifics
Wolfie is healthy.

Ideal family
Wolfie is sensitive to changes in his surroundings. When he first came to The Home, he had to adjust to a new place without his familiar friends, which he showed by howling and barking. Even taking walks outside required repeated trips along the same route before he became familiar enough to relieve himself. Finding a family that understands Wolfie's nature and has the patience to help him adapt to new surroundings would be ideal. He deeply cares for his guardian and relies on them. We've seen him build trust with the guardians and volunteers at The Home. We're looking for a family that can provide stability and nurture a strong bond of trust. Wolfie patiently waits for treats from children and behaves well on a leash, making him a good fit for a family with kids. While he understands the purpose of a kennel, he prefers sleeping on a cozy blanket. Wolfie is ready to find his forever family, one that can help him overcome his fear of human touch.
