Rescue story
In December 2019, the #SiheungDogFarm entered the spotlight as the story of Yumi emerged—a dog that miraculously escaped with extensive burns covering its entire body. Another animal welfare organization initially launched a rescue operation, but on Christmas Day, the owner transferred all the animals to a different dog farm. Although their whereabouts remained elusive, persistent efforts eventually convinced the farm owner to surrender them. However, the time spent in slaughterhouses had inflicted profound trauma on these dogs. Taking charge of the situation, WEACT and volunteers provided ceaseless day and night care, leading to the successful rescue of 65 animals from the #SiheungDogFarm. Due to their profound trauma and injuries inflicted by humans, it necessitated an extended period of time and heightened effort to rehabilitate them. Even four years down the line, WEACT remains steadfast in its mission to facilitate the adoption of dogs from #SiheungDogFarm. #weact_bliss was one of the rescues from this very location.


Personality
Bliss is the most exemplary dog among those rescued from Siheung Meat Farm. With the assistance of a trainer, she quickly absorbs what she learns and establishes good relationships with people. She now eagerly accepts treats and welcomes touch from strangers. Bliss approaches them with a curious __expression__, and when she becomes more comfortable, she quickly reveals her charming personality! She exhibits excellent walking manners and can follow the lead of someone she has just met, making it easy to enjoy time together. While Bliss doesn't appear to be particularly afraid of everyday noises like car sounds, she may bark and engage in playful behavior during mealtime or when interacting with other dogs.


With humans
Bliss is able to follow a stranger's lead during walks. She doesn't discriminate based on a person's gender or age and generously accepts touch from strangers. She's always ready to approach if there are treats! As you gradually get to know Bliss, anticipate the day when you can witness her unique charm.


With dogs
Bliss gets along well with most dogs, but she doesn't seem to consider those under 3kg as friends. She sometimes pokes them with her nose, as if playing with a toy, so it's best for her to avoid interacting with small dogs.


With cats
Bliss has never met or lived with a cat.


Energy level
Bliss loves going for walks and appears to have above-average energy levels. Since she only goes potty outdoors, it's important for her to have daily walks, even if they are short.


Shedding/Barking
Bliss sheds and doesn't bark without reason, but she does bark when she is placed in a closed kennel to express her dislike.


Needs help with
Bliss understands her name but does not consistently respond to recall commands. While she can be considered an exemplary student among the Siheung friends who were rescued together, she requires various training to adapt to urban or other environments.


Health specifics
Some of Bliss's teeth are damaged, so activities such as chewing on hard toys should be avoided.


Ideal family
Bliss goes potty outdoors and loves walks, so she would be best suited for an active family who can walk together at least three times a day. While she doesn't react strongly to noise and her surroundings, she needs a diligent guardian who can provide diverse experiences and enjoyable adventures since she may not be familiar with city life. Bliss does not distinguish people based on age or gender, so she can get along well with various family members. She'll also enjoy having resident dogs by her side, but keep in mind that it may be challenging for her to coexist with small dogs weighing less than 3kg.
