Rescue story
After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, WEACT went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. It had been two years since our last visit, but the place appeared frozen in time, hardly different from before. The dogs' lives hadn't improved at all, suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of our rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, we also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, we finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With the assistance of the KK9 organization, we successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder¡¯s possession. Among them was #weact_laura, who was finally able to escape the dark, stuffy breeding facility and embrace a new life. Personality With round eyes and a small black nose, Laura is even cuter than a teddy bear. She's a bundle of cuteness, automatically showing her belly whenever a human hand touches her. Despite losing her voice, Laura steadfastly expresses her desires. Her confident request for affection transforms into a soft and squishy demeanor as you stroke her head, turning her into a tender, cuddly dog. On the day Laura first arrived at The Home, she begged to be touched, and when we scratched her back a few times, she peed out of excitement, revealing her insatiable longing for love above all else. At the time of her rescue, she already knew how to perform basic commands, such as "paw," "wait," and "down." It seems she was initially raised in a household, but her vocal cords were surgically altered due to barking issues. Later on, she might have been abandoned at a breeding facility. Having the opportunity to experience affection and care, her desire to receive them has grown even stronger. Only by being embraced by a forever family will she find a sense of fulfillment. With humans Laura showers everyone she meets with her charm and finds happiness in the presence of people. Once she settles into a stable environment after adoption, please shower her with all the love she hasn't received before through various walks and interactions. With dogs Laura is a social butterfly who gets along well with other dogs; however, she prefers to spend time with people over dogs. With cats She hasn't had any experience meeting or living with cats. Energy level Laura has a high energy level, so a single walk might not be enough to keep her from getting bored at home. Please provide her with at least two walks a day, so she can rest comfortably with her family when back home. Shedding/Barking Laura doesn't shed. She does bark, but there is no sound because her vocal cords were removed. Needs help with Laura engages in demand barking, though no sound emerges due to her being delocalized. Despite the absence of sound, her barking indicates excitement. Please help her learn to wait and relax. Health specifics Laura is healthy, but her ears are not in the best condition and thus require regular airing and cleaning. Ideal family What matters most to Laura is no longer being left alone. Despite encountering disheartening circumstances, her affection for people remains unwavering. To ensure Laura's well-being, she seeks a family committed to being with her through every phase of life. Her ideal home would be characterized by minimal changes and stability. As an example, suppose Laura's new primary guardian was residing with their parents; the desired situation would involve them taking Laura along if moving out at all. Another suitable arrangement would be for Laura to complete a family as the youngest member. Laura's fondness for people is so profound that she might initially experience separation anxiety in her new home. Even when apart briefly, please reassure her of the eventual return. It's important to recognize that these feelings stem from a history of instability. Being highly intelligent, Laura holds immense potential to exhibit changes based on various experiences and the training she receives. Laura eagerly anticipates a family that will nurture her for the remainder of her life, enabling her to truly thrive. More photos and videos https://www.instagram.com/tags/À§¾×Æ®·Î¶ó |
