Rescue story
After receiving a tip about five abandoned dogs and the remains of another, WEACT went to a breeding facility in Ilpae-dong, Namyangju. It had been two years since our last visit, but the place appeared frozen in time, hardly different from before. The dogs' lives hadn't improved at all, suffering from neglect as the local authorities turned a blind eye. They were left to scavenge for food in constant hunger and forced into continuous breeding and birthing cycles. When the breeder became aware of our rescue attempt, he tried to secretly relocate the dogs under the cover of night. During this process, we also discovered and saved additional mother dogs and their pups hidden in nearby vacant lots, neighboring yards, and even inside homes. Through persistent persuasion and negotiation, we finally convinced the unscrupulous breeder to give up ownership. With the assistance of the KK9 organization, we successfully rescued all the dogs in the breeder¡¯s possession. Among them was #weact_rosa, who was finally able to escape the dark, stuffy breeding facility and embrace a new life.

Personality
¡°Would you like to spend time with me to know my innermost thoughts?¡±
Rosa exudes chic and calm vibes, admiring the scenery during walks and savoring moments of rest. Yet, Rosa's inner world reveals a different side. Her boundless curiosity leads her to fearlessly approach moving toys. She's incredibly well-behaved, calmly accepting baths from her foster family and bravely enduring painful vet treatments without showing any signs of discomfort. When Rosa is at her best, she becomes quite playful with other dogs. Spending time with her is a delightful journey to uncover her vibrant and candid facets.

With humans
Rosa adores people. Although she may not approach strangers right away, she doesn't shy away from their touch. Given enough time and patience for her to adapt, you could easily become her best friend.

With dogs
Rosa enjoys spending time with other dogs, although on tired days, she might decline their playful advances with barks. When she's feeling energetic, she readily engages in play.

With cats
Rosa hasn't met or lived with cats before.

Energy level
Rosa is very active and possesses remarkable stamina; an hour-long walk doesn't tire her. She enjoys following her nose to sniff the scents left by other dogs or simply standing still to feel the breeze. Please walk at Rosa's pace and make sure to take her out twice a day, both in the morning and at night.

Shedding/Barking
Rosa doesn't shed much, and she may bark two to three times when she hears unfamiliar sounds, such as the sound of a door keypad. While she doesn¡¯t bark otherwise, this behavior may change depending on the environment.

Needs help with
Rosa prefers using indoor potty pads and succeeds about 75% of the time. With consistent training, she's likely to master this soon. Sometimes, when her foster family is absent or preoccupied, she may exhibit a behavior where she eats her own feces, but this is gradually improving. Initially, Rosa may come across as shy, but once she's comfortable, she'll become more attached and show that she relies on you. Consequently, when left alone, she may feel lonely and whimper. As this could potentially lead to separation anxiety, it's important to provide appropriate training and use her favorite treats to help her become more accustomed to being around new people and receiving affection.

Health specifics
Rosa has successfully undergone surgery to remove a mammary tumor and has recovered from a heartworm infection. However, she still requires attentive care due to her less than perfect eyesight and hearing. If she refuses medication, you can try mixing it with honey and applying it to the roof of her mouth.

Ideal family
Rosa is slowly becoming more familiar with people. We hope her new family will patiently match her pace and spend ample quality time with her during the day to help her open up. Given her tendency to be easily startled by everyday occurrences, it's important to move gently and calmly around her. Consequently, households with young children, especially those who are very active or may have difficulty understanding her temperament, may face challenges. Rosa enjoys the company of other dogs, so she would do well in a home with resident dogs, but compatibility should be considered. Please provide tender care for her and offer warm embraces when she encounters unfamiliar or frightening situations to help her feel safe. Rosa is eagerly waiting for a responsible, loving, and lifelong family to share genuine happiness.
