Rescue story
After the forest fire swept through, Uljin was left with this nasty burnt smell and ashes all around. WEACT went in twice over three days and managed to rescue a total of 30 dogs that were caught up in the burned homes and chaos. Within this group, 19 were from Uljin Animal Shelter. When the fire started closing in on the shelter's area, they swiftly relocated the dogs to safety. However, the larger dogs faced a challenge as there wasn't a proper spot, leaving them exposed to the cold outdoors with only a blanket in a small kennel. While #weact_rosaline miraculously avoided the fire's reach, she had ended up on the shelter¡¯s euthanasia list. Luckily, she's now found a safe haven and comfort at WEACT.

Personality
Rosaline is an absolute beauty, and if you compare her to her first days at The Home, she's come a long way in making friends. In the beginning, she wasn't too keen on getting close to other dogs, except for #weact_borris, and tended to hide away like a bit of a scaredy-cat. But now, she's fully immersed in playtime with her doggie buddies and thoroughly enjoys her toy-filled adventures. Rosaline has good manners during walks, making sure to interact and maintain eye contact with her walker. Still, there are moments from the fire that seem to linger, as sudden movements, loud noises, and new faces can set her on edge. It might be a good idea to plan walks during quieter times instead of busier periods.

With humans
Rosaline is fearful of strangers, regardless of their gender. She hasn't had any experience with young children, so when it comes to interactions with people, it's essential to provide her with enough room and time. Conversely, if someone she knows approaches gently, she's comfortable with being touched. Nonetheless, even if Rosaline appears friendly and trails alongside those she recognizes, it doesn't necessarily mean she's ready for touch or being picked up.

With dogs
Rosaline loves other dogs regardless of age, gender, or size.

With cats
Rosaline has never encountered cats.

Energy level
Rosaline prefers leisurely walks over running during her strolls. She enjoys going potty outside and playing with other dogs, so taking her for walks at least twice a day would be wonderful.

Shedding/Barking
Rosaline tends to shed and growls when she's scared or approached by people, but she doesn't bite. There have been occasions when she barked in surprise upon encountering unexpected individuals.

Needs help with
Because of her fear of sudden approaches by people or cars, desensitization training is necessary for Rosaline. While she is capable of relieving herself indoors, she has never used pads before.

Health specifics
Rosaline doesn't have any specific health issues, but she does have a weak digestive system and struggles to gain weight easily.

Ideal family
Although Rosaline has made progress, she still finds people to be quite intimidating. While she now cautiously accepts treats from human hands, it required a significant amount of time and effort for her to muster the courage. Finding a compassionate family that genuinely understands her and is willing to engage with her would be ideal. Given her natural apprehension towards people, a smaller family environment could provide a more comforting sanctuary when contrasted with a larger household or one that frequently hosts guests. The presence of resident dogs may help her adjust more swiftly. As Rosaline tends to feel secure in a kennel, preparing a cozy area for her would be greatly appreciated.
