Rescue Story
WEACT headed to a rural village in Mungyeong after receiving a report about dogs being neglected in a shed. Their former owner had been ignorant of the importance of spay/neuter and of how dogs should be cared for in general, leading to the dogs suffering neglect that bordered on abuse. It took three separate trips to rescue the 48 dogs, who had been living in a filthy environment for a long time. #weact_doug was one of the precious souls who managed to survive in this harsh environment, and he has finally started to get to know the big, beautiful world outside the shed.

Personality
Doug is a peace lover who likes comfort and stability. If you give him a bit of time, he can adjust to anything! When he first got to The Home, he was so afraid of his new environment and the strangers around him that he refused to come out of his kennel. But with a bit of patience, he began opening up! He gets bathed, groomed, and takes his deworming meds without a problem. He's a sweetheart who leans very gently against people's hands when he's nervous. Doug likes going for walks, so he allows aunties and uncles who take him out to touch him. He has a good appetite – the sight of him licking his lips and waiting for his meal is adorable! He also gets along super well with other dogs and has never been seen fighting with his friends. Seeing Doug will put a smile on your face and your mind at ease!

With humans
Doug isn't particularly afraid of people. Once he opens up to someone, he enjoys being touched by them. He'll even let strangers touch him if they approach him slowly. He hasn't met men or children yet but with his personality, he'll likely get along just fine with them.

With dogs
Doug gets along well with all his canine friends. In the shed, he mostly lived with dogs of a similar size to him or smaller, so it was at The Home that he encountered big dogs for the first time. He shows interest in them though he doesn't approach them first, nor is he nervous around them.

With cats
Doug has never met a cat.

Energy Level
Doug isn't high energy but enjoys going for walks and going potty outdoors so he needs at least two walks a day.

Shedding/Barking
It's hard to tell how much Doug sheds as all his fur was razed off after being rescued. He never barks.

Needs help with
There's nothing in particular that Doug needs help with. He thinks of his kennel as a safe space so teaching him the command "crate" on top of that would be good. He hasn't met a wide variety of people yet so he would benefit from greater socialization. Doug will learn in no time!

Health Specifics
Doug is healthy.

Ideal family
Doug would ideally be walked frequently so he can go potty outdoors. It would be even better if you could take him camping and do other activities where he can experience different environments since he likes going for walks so much. And since he gets along with all dogs, he'll do well both as an only dog or in a multi-dog household. Doug, who¡¯s laidback and likes to take things slow, is looking for a forever family who'll walk in step with him!
