Rescue Story
WEACT headed to Jeongeup after receiving a video of a tiny puppy struggling as a man swung it around by the snout. That dog was Shorty. After arriving at the scene, WEACT also found Only and Chunli, who were tied up on very short chains. You could tell by the state of their water bowls how much neglect they¡¯d suffered and what kind of environment they¡¯d lived in, yet the owner insisted that he was doing a good job of raising the dogs. After a long confrontation, the owner finally surrendered the dogs, and that¡¯s now Only, Chunli, and Shorty came into WEACT¡¯s care. Chunli was pregnant at the time of rescue and soon gave birth to #weact_kory,, #weact_bumblebee, #weact_ferrari, #weact_fairy, #weact_dali, #weact_hyory, and #weact_bentley, who all became part of the WEACT family.

Personality
Kory is super smart and easygoing! He's a natural-born social butterfly who makes friends with people and dogs easily. With his calm, easygoing, and bright personality, he's sure to be loved wherever he goes! It's only a matter of time before everyone falls in love with his unique charm. He's also so fearless that he approaches anything that piques his curiosity to explore it with his nose! Clever Kory is a quick learner, a thoughtful little gentleman who carefully observes his foster mom's little gestures and stops and waits when she stops on their walks. :-)

With humans
¡°Am I shy, you ask? I don't even know what that means! I¡¯m an ESFP!¡± Kory befriends just about anyone quickly. He's so sociable that he'll even allow strangers to touch him all over. He especially loves meeting new people while out on walks! He likes both men and women but seems to prefer men. He hasn't met a human baby yet.

With dogs
Kory hasn't met a lot of different dogs yet, but so far, he's quickly become friends with dogs he's seeing for the first time and had a fun time together.

With cats
Kory has never met a cat.

Energy Level
Kory seems the most energetic right before bed -- he'll run several laps around the house by himself! He loves to play with toys on his own as an independent young pup, but he also enjoys taking walks with his guardian, after which he often takes a nice nap.

Shedding/Barking
Kory doesn¡¯t shed much at the moment. He sometimes barks when he hears noises outside as if he wants to protect his house!

Needs help with
Little Kory needs a variety of training so he can grow into a fine young gentledog. He already has a potty pad success rate of 90%! He only poops in the spot he's chosen for himself, but he doesn't go anywhere other than that spot. Kory doesn't know what his kennel is for yet. Please help him learn that it's a cozy, comfy space to relax in Kory whines when he can't see his foster mama and only feels at ease when he follows her into the bathroom! He'll need help learning that it's not scary or boring to be without his guardian. Kory is smart and independent, so he'll learn in no time! Kory often thinks of human hands as toys. He's being taught that they're not at his current foster home. If you show him that there are way more interesting toys out there, he'll probably quickly lose interest in hands. Kory hates the sound and air that comes out of the hair dryer. He'll need desensitization training to make bath time and fur-drying time more enjoyable, as a proper dry is important for healthy skin Kory has a big appetite and loves to be praised, so he'll learn quickly with the use of treats!

Health Specifics
Kory is healthy.

Ideal family
If your family has a dog already, it would be best if they were about Kory's size and not too small. Kory isn¡¯t super affectionate and doesn¡¯t especially like to be held, but he has his own calm way of showing his family love. He likes people, but he sometimes needs time alone to sleep or play, so his ideal family would respect that. Kory would love a furever family that can spend lots of time with him, take him for fun walks, and enjoy naps on the bed together!
