Rescue story
In the late summer of 2024, as the heat lingered, WEACT headed to a "home" in Busan. Upon arriving and opening the door, we were met with a scene of various household trash and filth, leaving no space to step. When we opened the refrigerator, the bodies of dead dogs poured out. The stench and gases from the decaying bodies left at room temperature made our eyes and noses sting. One dog lay on the floor among the crawling cockroaches, struggling to breathe; another, a younger dog, peeked out from a pile of feces; and yet another, covered in hardened waste-like armor, was unrecognizable. For the first time, these neglected dogs, including #BusanAnimalHoarder rescue dog #weact_ella, were able to step outside and breathe clean air. Most of them were in a frail state, weighing less than 3 kg. In this tragic scene, once misleadingly called a "home," WEACT rescued 14 dogs, including #weact_ella. WEACT is committed to finding them a true home that lives up to its name.


Personality
With her sweet little face and tiny body, Ella is the ultimate cuddle bug. Once she gets to know you, she turns into a total cutie pie who just can’t get enough affection. Be careful, though! When she feels the love from your gentle petting, she’ll close her eyes and melt into the moment—your fingers might get sore from petting her because she’s just too cute!


With humans
Ella didn’t get much exposure to people when she was a puppy, so she’s a little shy around new faces. But once she trusts you, she turns into a snuggle monster! Ella loves being held and cuddled, and she’ll run right to you for affection once she knows you’re her friend. She may be a little shy at first, but once she’s comfortable, she’s all about affection and will happily turn into your playful little cuddle bug.


With dogs
Ella spent a lot of time with other dogs, so she’s friendly and gets along with everyone! She’s a gentle soul who loves the company of other pups and isn’t afraid to join in on group play—she’s always kind and easygoing.

Energy Level
Ella’s not the most energetic pup, but she loves her daily walks! A walk once a day with her favorite person is enough to make her the happiest pup in the world.


Needs help with
Ella is great with her hygiene—she’s pad-trained indoors and potty-trained outside too. While she’s not a fan of having her nails clipped or getting a bath, she’s okay with ear cleaning. With a little patience, tasty treats, and warm love, she’ll continue to make great progress. Ella hasn’t had much experience with walking on a leash yet, so you’ll need to be patient and show her the world through gentle walks. Help her learn to enjoy the outdoors and explore the big, beautiful world!


Health specifics
Ella has grade 2 patellar luxation in both of her knees, so she needs to be careful with her movements and avoid jumping or too much running. She also tends to get motion sickness while travelling, so it’s best to take precautions when moving her around.


Ideal family
Ella is a true cuddle enthusiast—she loves being around people, held, and pampered. For her, a home where someone can spend time with her throughout the day would be ideal. Ella would do best as an only pet or with another friendly pup who enjoys cuddling too. She’s not a fan of jealousy, so she’d prefer to be the center of attention and get all the love and affection.
