Rescue story
In the scorching summer of 2021, WEACT responded to a report and witnessed a horrifying scene in Gumi. In a shuttered lighting store, where temperatures reached nearly 38 degrees Celsius, over a dozen dogs were trapped without water. On the nearby hillside, 70 dogs had been abandoned. Even humans struggled to stand under the scorching sun, and the dogs were barely surviving. Due to the irresponsible owner's failure to provide basic care, the number of animals kept increasing uncontrollably. Thanks to WEACT, other rescuers, and volunteers, all the dogs from #GumiDogHell were given the chance to start a new chapter in their lives. Personality With his big ears, Earl has a smile that's irresistibly beautiful. His radiant smile is infectious, bringing joy almost like magic. While he may seem outgoing, Earl actually possesses a gentle and affectionate nature. When faced with new situations, he takes a moment to reflect before acting. He readily approaches his dog friends with kindness. Although he has limited experience with people, he's making an effort to connect at his own pace. Would you like to share some laughter with the endlessly loving Earl? With humans It seems that the tough memories from before rescue linger in Earl's mind. He's cautious around strangers, regardless of their gender. However, with time and patience, Earl gradually warms up and may approach on his own. To boost his confidence, stand by his side, and if you become friends, gently stroke his favorite spot – from his jaw to his chest. With dogs Earl always seeks to approach and greet dog friends, regardless of their size or build. He is considerate and avoids pushing too hard or following those that might feel uncomfortable. With cats Earl has encountered cats during walks, but he didn't show much interest. However, since he hasn't lived with cats, his reaction could change if he were to live with one. If you already have a resident cat, please assess their compatibility first. Energy level Earl prefers to go potty outdoors, so please take him for a walk at least once a day. He may not have high energy levels, but he enjoys running around, gazing at the sky, and smelling fresh grass. Shedding/Barking Earl sheds a lot. Once you've built enough trust with him, it's a good idea to brush him regularly. During the adjustment period in his new home, Earl may bark for 1-2 hours when left alone. Please stay with him during this time to help him adapt. Once he's comfortable, he won't bark when left alone but might whimper if he needs something. Needs help with Earl is very intelligent, so there isn¡¯t much to teach him. However, during walks, he may suddenly stop and sit down or try to run away when encountering loud noises or specific individuals. In such cases, please wait for Earl to regain composure, hold his leash for safety, and focus on him. Health specifics Earl is prone to car sickness, so if you're planning long-distance drives, please allow him breaks to look around. Additionally, regular vet visits are crucial for ongoing vaccinations to ensure Earl's continued health. Besides that, he is very healthy. Ideal family Earl's sensitivity to loud noises, sudden movements, and his slow adaptation to people may make it challenging for him to adjust to a household with young children. We hope his new family will be patient, calm, and understanding of his feelings. To help him settle in comfortably, try to perform daily routines slowly around Earl and provide him with a designated space. Earl is affectionate and friendly that he often yields to other dogs, even if they display aggressive behavior. He also accepts brushing and nail clipping, even when initially nervous. Earl is also an independent explorer, so please wait for him to approach you first. Once fully settled, Earl will become an adorable and affectionate companion, seeking your attention and expressing his desires clearly. Earl is looking for a patient and loving family to provide him with a lifetime of care and affection. More photos and videos https://www.instagram.com/tags/À§¾×Æ®¾ó |
