Rescue Story
Uljin was swallowed up in flames and left in ashes. WEACT visited Uljin over the span of 3 days, rescuing a total of 30 dogs. In the midst of chaos, 19 of these 30 dogs were originally taken in to safety by The Uljin Animal Shelter. Kim was one of these 19. Before we visited the shelter, we told the shelter manager that we¡¯d take those in need of medical care, those that are soon to be euthanized, and those that won¡¯t likely be adopted in Korea. And so, WEACT ended up taking in even the ones with a tendency to bite, and ones that were labeled to be ¡°a lot of work¡±.

Personality
¡°I, Kayday, am the coolest!!!¡± Kayday, who has a hearty appetite and loves running around playing, exudes confidence. Because she¡¯s still a puppy, she¡¯s not used to a leash and a collar. However, she loves the outdoors and humans, so if you help her associate leash with happy fun memories outside, she¡¯ll learn to love it so quickly! Her overly confident and proud personality is super adorable – she¡¯ll goof around like the puppy that she is and give you a look as if she¡¯s saying ¡°look! Aren¡¯t I cool?¡± Kayday¡¯s not afraid to ask for love. She¡¯ll show you her belly asking for belly rubs and come up to you asking for pets.

With humans
She loves people so she¡¯s a huge lovebug to everyone. She has never met a baby before but she¡¯s okay with grownups regardless of their gender. She¡¯s bright, cheerful, and brave so she gets along with everyone. Her loveable personality is an added bonus!

With dogs
Her gentle and sociable personality allows her to befriend and play well with other dog friends. She especially gets along well with other puppies her age and she doesn¡¯t fight or even growl at other dogs.

With cats
Kayday has never met a cat before.

Energy Level
Kayday has a high energy level and she loves the outdoors, so she¡¯ll need a lot of walks. It would be nice to spend time and build up a bond with Kayday by going on walks.

Shedding/Barking
The level of shedding is pretty basic, just like any other dog. She may bark but she doesn¡¯t bark aggressively or bark for no reason.

Needs help with
She¡¯s not comfortable with a leash and definitely needs training, but she¡¯s not particularly scared of anything. Kayday¡¯s super curious about the outside world so she¡¯ll adjust to a leash and going on walks pretty quickly. She may not know any basic commands (sit, paw, wait, etc.) but if you take your time and teach her, she¡¯ll learn them one by one. We¡¯re currently crate training her but she hasn¡¯t mastered it yet. It would be nice to continue this after she has been adopted!

Health Specifics
Super healthy with no major health concerns!

Ideal family
Since Kayday is super confident, a family that will proudly support and show her off as their daughter would be great. Because she is so loving, an equally affectionate family that can fill her heart with lots of love would be so good for Kayday. She¡¯s also super active, so an active family that can spend lots of outdoor time with her and make new precious memories would get along great with Kayday!
