Rescue Story
WEACT headed to Jeongeup after receiving a video of a tiny puppy struggling as a man swung it around by the snout. That dog was Shorty. After arriving at the scene, WEACT also found Only and Chunli, who were tied up on very short chains. You could tell by the state of their water bowls how much neglect they’d suffered and what kind of environment they’d lived in, yet the owner insisted that he was doing a good job of raising the dogs. After a long confrontation, the owner finally surrendered the dogs, and that’s now Only, Chunli, and Shorty came into WEACT’s care. Chunli was pregnant at the time of rescue and soon gave birth to #weact_hyory, #weact_bumblebee, #weact_ferrari, #weact_fairy, #weact_bentley, #weact_dali, and #weact_kory, who all became part of the WEACT family.


Personality
“Hey friends, play with me!” Hyo-ry’s favorite thing in the world is to play! She’s a social butterfly who loves it when other dogs or humans spend time with her. She only tenses up very briefly when she’s in a new space or environment. She adjusts very quickly to new situations – after exploring for a bit, she starts feeling totally comfortable and will zoom around and play without a moment’s rest.


With humans
"I’m the queen of kisses!” Hyo-ry LOVES people! If you play with her, she’ll reward you with a torrent of kisses! Because she likes people regardless of age or gender, this affectionate pup is popular wherever she goes. If you lightly pet her while she’s resting after a fun play session, she’ll flop onto her back for belly rubs.


With dogs
Hyo-ry likes dogs more than people, but she hasn't met a variety of other dogs yet. She’s currently living with a small dog who she isn’t afraid of and who she expresses interest in first. Hyo-ry hasn’t met a big dog before, but if they’re introduced slowly, they should get along well.


With cats
Hyo-ry didn’t show much interest in the cats she met at the vet.


Energy Level
Hyo-ry has tons of energy so she needs at least two walks a day. Since she’s a puppy and needs to experience lots of different things, ideally you’d take her for various outdoor activities so she can slowly get to know the world.


Shedding/Barking
Hyo-ry doesn’t shed right now but we anticipate that she’ll shed a lot in the future. She’s a chatty girl who talks in her sleep and sometimes copies her dog friends when they bark.


Needs help with
"I’m actually a genius." Hyo-ry’s still a puppy, but she’s already 95% proficient at using potty pads! Sometimes she does make the mistake of pooping in a spot that you can’t see. Hyo-ry doesn't like being alone. She might develop separation anxiety in the future, so please teach her that being alone isn’t scary or boring. Also, she’s good at sleeping in her kennel when she’s in the car but not when she’s at home, so it’d be great if you could teach her that the kennel is a safe, comfortable space that’s all her own.


Health Specifics
Hyo-ry is healthy.


Ideal family
Hyo-ry’s great at playing alone as well as with other dogs, so she’d do well as either an only dog or in a household with multiple dogs. Since she’s still very young, Hyo-ry’s curious about the world and everything inside the house, so the house could get a little messy as she goes around exploring. Ideally, her family would be understanding of this and set up a space of her own so she can play happily and safely. They’d also give her lots of love and attention so she can have a happy, healthy puppyhood and grow into a confident young lady. Hyo-ry is waiting for a forever family who will rub her belly in the autumn sunlight on a lazy Sunday afternoon!
