Rescue Story
Maggie was rescued in May of 2021 from a dogmeat farm in Gimpo. 40 dogs including puppies were crammed into cages filled with trash, living off of only food waste and no water. Maggie was rescued a long with her friends.

Personality
Maggie is generally quiet inside the house and energetic outside. She may be shy around strangers but is friendly to both people and dogs she knows. She seems to have trauma with ropes and is scared of toys shaped like one or with strings attached. And while she loves to be petted or massaged, she does not like to be lifted up and held.

With humans
It does take time for her to get used to new people. Let her take her time and approach at her own pace and she will open her heart. She does like people in general, Maggie¡¯s just a shy girl.

With dogs
When she meets them outside, she jumps up and down in joy. Maggie likes most doggy friends and is especially good with friends of or smaller than her size. But she does need to get used to their playstyle. Maggie can get scared if her dog friend rushes at her too enthusiastically.

With cats
She hasn¡¯t met one yet.

Energy Level
Maggie is quite energetic and does not tire easily. She didn¡¯t appear winded even after an hour of running at the playground and can take an hour-long walk with ease. She needs walks at least twice a day and she would love it if she could run around at a playground once in a while. Maggie seems to perceive the indoors as a space to rest, so she is not as energetic when inside the house.

Shedding/Barking
While she sheds a lot during shedding season, Maggie does not generally shed a lot.

Needs help with
Adjusting to new people, new places, new sounds, etc. She is easily surprised by sound coming from outside when indoors, so it would help a lot if Maggie to go to many different places and get to learn new environments. She is also shy around people and does not like being touched by strangers. Though it is not a requirement, it would help Maggie if she could get used to human contact. Maggie could be more relaxed if she learns that people do not need to be feared, that they love and wish protect her. Maggie likes to eat, so rewarding with snacks would be a good way of educating her.

Health Specifics
none.

Ideal family
Maggie has spent less than a year outside of the dog farm¡¯s cages. There is a lot she needs to get used to, but she in, in her heart, a loving and bright, healthy puppy. Maggie likes to play and she loves to run; she must have been so stifled inside the small cage. Maggie¡¯s ideal family would provide her with the space and time to enjoy the outdoors. She loves to go out, so the family could take her trekking, back-packing, and traveling. If Maggie could find someone to protect and accompany her on such trips, she would be so happy. We are looking for a family that can be considerate and patient with Maggie as she heals her heart and learns of the world.
